Marketing says non-agentic / agent / agentic — verify on the product you use: tools? multi-step goal? memory/feedback? If none, it is still a chat tool.

You've probably seen this slide before: (1) prompt-only chat, (2) single-task tool-agent, (3) multi-step loop with plan/memory. It's a useful map — but dangerous as gospel. Vendor 'agentic' often just means a longer chat with some tools attached. Score the tool you actually open, and keep a human gate on send/spend regardless.
