Long PDFs and Word files practically invite you to hit the summarize button. The bullets look complete, but they can still drop the exception, mishear a name, or invent a deadline. The pattern: run the in-app summarize on a work doc you're allowed to open, then force yourself to verify the one claim that would actually change a decision. Sharing or sending any recap is still yours to own.

Open your notes and write a 3-line doc-AI rule: (1) summarize only in the approved app (2) re-check the one claim you'll act on (3) don't forward the AI summary alone to a client. You're done when you've opened a non-sensitive doc, run summarize (or read its docs), and written the one fact you'd re-verify, in 12 words or less.
