Pick the approved AI chat first — then open a tab
Before you paste work into any chat, open the tool your org approved (tenant ChatGPT/Claude/Gemini/Copilot) so policy and retention match the job — personal consumer accounts are last resort and never for client data.
Worked example
The fastest wrong move is pure muscle memory: opening a personal ChatGPT tab and pasting in the email. The real workplace skill is choosing your tool first. If your company has Microsoft 365 Copilot, Google Gemini for Workspace, or an enterprise ChatGPT/Claude seat, that's your default for work content. Free consumer chat is for public, non-sensitive learning only. And send is still a human call after the draft.
