Open any chat tool. Ask the same question twice: first 'Explain 401k matching', then 'You are a benefits specialist. Explain 401k matching to a 22-year-old first-job hire in 4 sentences.' You're done when you can name one concrete difference the role and audience made.

Give it a role AND an audience
Naming who the model is and who the output is for changes vocabulary, depth, and tone more than any other single instruction.
Worked example
Explain X' gets you a generic answer. 'You are a benefits specialist explaining X to a new hire on their first day' gets you the right one. Role sets expertise; audience sets vocabulary and depth. Two clauses, most of the payoff.
