Tool selection includes the null option. Bad AI tasks share a shape: you can't verify the output, the stakes are personal or legal, or the value is in the struggle (like writing you need to think through). Knowing when to close the tab is a competency.
Do this now
Write 3 tasks from your job where you would NOT use AI, and one line each on why (can't verify / stakes / the thinking is the work). You're done when at least one entry surprises the version of you from a month ago.
