LLMs in plain language
A large language model (LLM) is software trained on a huge amount of text so it can continue writing in a way that often sounds right. Think of a very fast, very confident intern who has read widely — not a person who quietly opened your company systems.
What that means at work
- **Fluent is not verified.** Smooth sentences can still be wrong.
- **No automatic ERP access.** Unless a tool is connected on purpose, the model is generating text, not looking up private records.
- **Same tool, many jobs.** Drafting, brainstorming, rewriting, and Q&A on uploaded files are different setups.
What to practice
Ask: “What job am I doing?” then “What would prove this answer is good enough?” That habit matters more than memorizing model names.
